We've all had embarrassing moments in our life, sometimes we're too shy to tell them. Here are some of Hollywood's favorite celebrities being candid about their most embarrassing moments.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Surreal Oscar Night Experience
Imagine getting so wasted at an Oscars after-party and throwing up on the front steps. Yeah, not a pretty picture. Well, that’s just what happened to Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence. The actress was on “Late Night,” sharing a few of her crazy drinking experiences with host Seth Myers and told him about the time she threw up in front of Miley Cyrus at an Oscars after-party.
“I’ve never gone out after Golden Globes or Oscars or anything. I’m just so sick of people by that point. But this time I was like, ‘I’m going out.’ And I puked… all over,” the Dark Phoenix star recalled. “There’s this big fancy party, this Guy Oseary and Madonna party. If you get invited you’re, like, super important. And I puked on his porch. I was in such bad condition and I look behind me and Miley Cyrus is looking at me like, ‘Get it together!'”
Lawrence is a funny lady who doesn’t mind poking fun at herself. The actress will be starring in and producing Paolo Sorrentino’s, Mob Girl. The film is an adaptation of Teresa Carpenter’s Pulitzer Prize-winning true-crime story of the same name.
Joe Jonas’s Mishap With “Adult Entertainment”
Joe Jonas, the second oldest in the Jonah Brothers trio, wasn’t as innocent as he led us to believe when he was younger. Jonas, like his brothers, might have worn a purity ring, but that didn’t keep him from watching dirty content, of which he was an avid user.
“I would use my address to log into the websites, and I did this for seven days straight,” the 29-year-old singer told Notion. “A month later—and by the way, my dad was a pastor at the time—for a week or two straight, there was a postcard with a naked woman on it saying ‘Come join us again Joe’ or ‘We really miss you’ or ‘You naughty boy. Come visit us again.'”
As of this year, the Jonas Brothers released Happiness Begins, their first album since 2009.
Channing Tatum First Kiss Embarrassment
If Joe Jonas’s story of accidentally subscribing to an adult entertainment site’s mailing list wasn’t embarrassing enough, what if you got dumped in front of your classmates? That embarrassing incident happened to Hollywood actor, Channing Tatum.
The 39-year-old actor told Elle, “The first girl I ever kissed was named Danica. She broke up with me through a friend who yelled — out the bus window — ‘Oh yeah, Danica doesn’t want to go out with you anymore.” He also mentioned that the whole bus started to laugh after the breakup.
Rob Kardashian’s Accidental “Overdose”
Accidentally consuming a vial of “The Blue Pill” seems like a hard thing to do, but it happened for the reality star Rob Kardashian.
In an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, he accidentally consumed too much of the and woke up from a nap with a “pitched tent.” After a couple of hours, the stiffy did not go away, so he called on his (now) brother-in-law, Scott Disick. Kardashian ended up going to the hospital to get it taken care of.
Zac Efron’s Awkward Red Carpet Moment
In 2012, actor Zac Efron dropped a rubber at red-carpet premiere of the animated Dr. Seuss adaptation, The Lorax. Pretty embarrassing right? Well, the actor thought so too, as you can see in this this video here of him looking mortified after he realizes what he dropped.
Matt Lauer sat down with Efron to talk about the incident on Today and this is what Efron said: “I never really had a pocket checking policy before going on the red carpet before, but now we’ve fully instated one.” The star of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile seemed to have a sense of humor about the incident, saying “I was just delivering a safe [lovemaking] message in a clever way.”
Hilary Duff’s Cringe Worthy Halloween Costume
Every year when Coachella or Halloween approaches, it seems like a handful of celebrities forget about cultural awareness and their white-privilege and “dress-up” in questionable garb. Like, in 2013 when Julianna Hough dressed up as blackface because she was a “big fan” of Orange Is The New Black character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren. Now we’re turning the spotlight to ex-Disney star Hilary Duff and her boyfriend Jason Walsh’s offensive Halloween costume.
Duff dressed up a pilgrim and Walsh as a Native American with a full-on headdress and face paint. It’s pretty cringy considering they are both white and that it was 2016, meaning that they should have known better. The actress took to Twitter with an apology saying, “I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume. It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my [heart emoji] sorry.” Duff learned her lesson the hard way, but at least she learned.
Kesha’s Supernatural Experience
If that Rob Kardashian story wasn’t odd enough, Kesha claims to have had physical relations with a ghost! The pop singer told Ryan Seacrest in a 2012 interview that her song “Supernatural” was inspired by her own supernatural experience.
“It’s about experiences with the supernatural… but in a [hot] way,” she told Seacrest. “I had a couple of experiences with the supernatural. I don’t know his name! He was a ghost! I’m very open to it.”
Fergie’s Onstage Nightmare
Back in 2005 when Fergie was performing with the Black Eyed Peas, the singer had a bit of an incident on stage and what could be considered many performers’ worst nightmares: she peed herself on stage.
What had happened was, the Black Eyed Peas were scheduled to perform in San Diego, but were running far behind. When they got to the venue, the members didn’t have time to do anything, so they rushed onto the stage. Fergie, though, had to pee. She was holding it in for as long as she could, but during the song “Let’s Get It Started,” the flood gates opened.
Warren Beatty’s Oscars Mix-Up
At the 2017 Academy Awards, Bonnie & Clyde actors Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty took the stage and presented the award for Best Picture, the final award of the night. Dunaway announced La La Land as the winner and the cast and crew came up on the stage to give speeches. Well, this is where it gets awkward.
After the cast of La La Land gave their speeches for an award they thought they won, Beatty came up to let everyone know that there was mixup and that Moonlight had actually won Best Picture. Yikes. That’s great for Moonlight, but sad for the cast of La La Land having to give back an award they thought they won.
The cast of Moonlight took the stage to give their speeches, and Warren explained that he was given the wrong envelope. Talk about an embarrassing moment for everyone.
Hugh Grant’s Arrest
Back in 1995, British actor Hugh Grant was caught soliciting favors from street worker, Divine Brown, in Los Angeles and was then arrested by police. At the time of the incident, he was dating actress, Elizabeth Hurley. She stayed with him throughout the scandal, but the two split a couple of years later.
This scandal happened a week before the release of Grant’s film Nine Months. In an interview with People, Grant said, “There were very talented people who made that film and really brilliant actors. Only one… who let them down, and that was me. Not only was I terrible in the film, but I then chose to get arrested in Hollywood a week before the film came out.”
Christina Aguilera’s Botched Spray Tan
Spray tans are a quick and easy option if you’re needing a fast pigment boost, but a lot of times they go south and that’s just what happened to singer and “The Voice” judge Christina Aguilera. Back in 2012, she was performing Etta James’ hit song, “At Last” at James’ funeral and, while performing, people noticed a reddish-brown line dripping down the inside of her leg.
Aguilera’s spokesperson told US Weekly, “The sweat caused her spray tan to streak.” The botched spray tan was a minor mishap, but Aguilera’s full-throated performance of “At Last” is what stole the show.
Justin Bieber’s Milk Incident
On the first night of Justin Bieber’s 2012 world tour in Glendale, Arizona, the singer had a bit of an upset stomach that night. The upset stomach resulted in Bieber throwing up on stage in front of 20,000 fans. Bieber was in the middle of performing his song “Out of Town Girl”, and while singing he turned his back from the crowd and began to throw-up. He quickly runs off stage, and his dancers are left dancing around Bieber’s puddle of throw-up.
The singer blames it on the milk he drank before going on stage and his digestive problems. After throwing-up on stage he rushed off and came back out a little later, and apologized to his fans, “It’s hard for me, you know, not feeling great and throwing up in front of a bunch of people,” he said. “Will you love me even though I’m throwing up on stage?”
Mariah Carey’s New Years Eve Disaster
Performing on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” is a great honor and Mariah Carey was given the opportunity to perform in 2016. Well, the show went on with great technical difficulties. The singer’s in-ear monitors stopped working before she went on stage, and shortly into her 6-minute set, she gave up during her performance of “We Belong Together” and started talking to the audience about the technical difficulties though pre-recorded music while choreography continued in the background.
Carey’s performance went viral online quickly after it aired live on the East Coast. DCP, the program’s production company, did not edit the performance before its broadcast on the West Coast. Carey was mortified and her manager, Stella Bulochnikov, blamed DCP for allowing the performance to go on. DCP spat back with, “To suggest that DCP … would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd. In very rare instances there are of course technical errors that can occur with live television, however, an initial investigation has indicated that DCP had no involvement in the challenges associated with Ms. Carey’s New Year’s Eve performance.”
This incident did not scare Carey away, though. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said, “It’s not going to stop me from doing a live event in the future. But it will make me less trusting of using anyone outside of my own team.”
Roseanne Barr’s “Ambien Tweet”
ABC’s reboot of the hit sitcom Roseanne was an immediate success, but that came came to a halt in 2018 when Roseanne Barr posted a tweet targeted at Valerie Jarret, the former administration adviser for former President Barack Obama, that said, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = VJ.” Barr tried to defend her ignorant tweet by saying, “it was a joke” and “Muslims r NOT a race,” but would soon apologize to Jarret on Twitter saying, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”
But, it gets worse. She then blamed her tweets on Ambien, posting that “it was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting — it was Memorial Day too…” After this Twitter incident, ABC decided it was best to fire Barr from the show, continue on with the same cast, and retitle the show The Conners.
Scarlett Johansson’s Almost Mile-High Club Experience
Scarlett Johansson was on Jimmy Kimmel Live with her fellow Avengers: Infinity War co-stars for a game of “Guess the Avenger.” One of Kimmel’s questions was, “Which Avenger flashed a stranger in an airplane bathroom?” That Avenger was Johansson. She revealed that she thought she locked the bathroom door and a passenger opened the door on her and he caught her exposed.
“I was using the bathroom in the plane, as one does, and I guess I didn’t lock the door,” Johansson told Kimmel. “It happens, occasionally. I don’t know… The guy opens the door, he looks down, and he’s like, ‘Uh…oh! Oh!’ I was like, ‘Close the… door!'”
