There is fighting the power and then there’s farting on it. A man from Scotland has been charged for aggressively passing gas and taunting a police officer while they conducted a strip search on him. This chain of events started earlier that day when the culprit, 28 year-old Stuart Cook was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Aberdeen. Police arrived on the scene and suspected Cook to be withholding illicit substances. Police handcuffed Cook who became irate and yelled at officers while he was apprehended and booked.
At the station, Cook was subject to a strip search where the flatulent crime happened.
“Cook… deliberately farted in the direction of the officer three times, stating, ‘How do you like that?'” explained prosecutor Lucy Simpson.
Cook pled guilty for possession but attempts to sentence him jail time for his farting were thrown out of court due to his lawyer arguing that police overreacted.
Cook was ordered to carry out 75 hours of unpaid labor instead.
