Sometimes, it’s not enough to just voice your opinion, you need something more. A way to show the world. Well, thats where comedian Elijah Daniel comes in.
As seen in the news recently, Donald Trump recently announced that he would not allow U.S. Embassies to fly the LGBTQ flag during pride month. Well Mr. Daniel decided that he was not a fan of Trump’s decision so he wanted a way to ‘stick it to the man’. The comedian decided the best way to ‘troll’ Trump was to buy a town in Michigan called Hell.
Daniel said, “Ahead of pride month Trump’s administration put a ban on embassy’s [sic] flying pride flags, so as of today, I am now the owner of Hell, Michigan. I bought the whole town. And my first act as owner, I have renamed my town to Gay Hell, MI.”

He later noted that the portion of only allowing pride flags was a joke and that any flag can fly.
In 2017, Daniel pulled a similar stunt by becoming mayor of Hell for one day and banning all heterosexual people in the town.
He hopes that his stunts will motivate others to become involved in politics and stand up for their beliefs. There has been a lot controversy surrounding pride month and this is just another method of someone expressing their beliefs.
